Does Derma Roller Really Work?
There is a new scar treatment called Derma Roller. You may have seen it advertised on ‘The Rachael Ray Show’ or ‘The Doctor’s’. If not then you may want to take a look at it. Derma Roller looks like a lint brush but has small needles attached all around it. You take the roller and roll it over your scarred area and it will create pin point punctures into the dermis layer of the skin. When it punctures your skin it will trigger the production of collagen and elastin. This is process that will allow our body to heal thinking it is a wound or cut. The Derma Roller can be purchased on-line and can be done in your own home. However, the cost can be expensive, retailing or over $75, and it is recommended that you purchase the numbing cream as well, to avoid any further pain.
If you are looking to help reduce the appearance of a scar you may want to try using a scar removal cream. Not only will you experience no pain, but it can be more cost effective and be able to show results in as little as four weeks. The Derma Roller may be a new product but using it may be painful for some people. There are many different scar removal creams available and you will find that if you use a scar removal product that uses 100% medical grade silicone not only will it absorb into the skin quicker but it will also act as a barrier over the scar and help to moisturize as it heals.
You shouldn’t have to put yourself through more pain by rolling small needles over your scar you should be able to reduce the appearance of your scar without any pain and using ingredients that have been shown to be safe and effective.
